Tradition

FC Bayern looks back with pride on a long and successful history, in which the club has not only won many trophies, but has also significantly shaped the development of football itself. “Tradition is very important, but we mustn't just talk about it, we must live it," said Uli Hoeneß, emphasising the responsibility associated with tradition: remaining true to your roots, maintaining the tried and true, and passing it on to future generations. This includes the club's cosmopolitan philosophy, which has fundamentally guided FC Bayern since its foundation. The same applies to continuity in the leadership, and the principle of financial responsibility. FC Bayern's awareness of its tradition also includes the club’s roots in the city and the region, reflected in the name Bayern München, and the emblem with the blue and white Bavarian lozenge.
