Felix Magath accepted his side's goalless draw away to Hertha BSC Berlin with good grace after the final whistle. "We didn't have the best of days, and overall we have to be very satisfied with the draw. We didn't click, and we never found our way into the match," the Bayern boss analysed after his side failed to win a competitive fixture for the first time in 2006.
Reaction to Hertha Berlin v Bayern
Uli Hoeneß: "Hertha put up very stubborn resistance. We missed our chances in the first half, and then in the last ten minutes. Hertha had the better of the openings in between. The draw was the right result. It would be plain arrogant if we were to think we could just show up in Berlin and come away with all three points. Hertha are a good team at home with a very strong defence, so a point is OK. I honestly don't know why people think we're unbeatable. Hertha ran us extremely close today. We're a good team, but the others can play football too."
Felix Magath: "We didn't have the best of days, and overall we have to be very satisfied with the draw. We didn't click, and we never found our way into the match, although it's always tough against Hertha. They come at you and close you down very quickly in midfield. Overall, we didn't look as focused as normal, although I can't think of a reason for that. The 0-0 draw was the right result on the day and both clubs will be happy with it. The game's proved we'll need to put in more effort than we did this evening if we want to stay top of the table."
Falko Götz (Berlin coach): "We basically did what we set out to do beforehand. It showed that if every player does the job he's told to do, we're the kind of team capable of matching the best around. I'm very pleased with today's game, and I believe it's one we could have won. We had the better of the chances, but Bayern had an outstanding Oliver Kahn in goal."
Oliver Kahn: "I did have one or two saves to make today, because we had our problems against a very high quality Hertha side. We know we'll have to watch ourselves, otherwise we could end up losing games. On the plus side, we've come away with a point without playing particularly well."
