Bayern’s ‘Frantic Fall’, featuring seven autumn fixtures in 22 days, got off to a winning start on Saturday as the Bundesliga champions defeated Karlsruher SC 1-0, ending a sequence of three matches without a win, and chalking up a morale-boosting three points ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League Group F clash with AC Fiorentina.
“We’re playing twice a week from now on, and it was good to start the sequence with an away win,“ commented coach Jürgen Klinsmann, after his side rolled up their sleeves and battled to victory in front of a 30,500 full house at the Wildpark stadium. Klinsmann praised his team’s “dogged persistence“, rewarded with Miroslav Klose’s 86th minute winner. “It confirms we’re heading in the right direction.“
