New coach boasts track record of success

Louis van Gaal first took up coaching with Alkmaar in 1986. After leading the same AZ to the Dutch Eredivisie title this season, he is now set to join Bayern this summer. The 57-year-old spent the intervening years compiling a long list of honours with Amsterdam giants Ajax, and also won four trophies as Barcelona head coach. Bayern are now trusting in Van Gaal’s proven skills to usher in a new era of success.
