Reaction to Bayern v Bremen

Van Gaal: We missed too many chances

Bayern made the better chances against Bremen but were still held 1-1 for the second time in a week. “I’m not happy with the result, but I’m pleased enough with the match,“ said Louis van Gaal after FCB’s first home fixture of term. No-one could have complained if Munich had beaten Werder, the FCB head coach reasoned. “However, I’m not happy with the number of chances we missed.“

Reaction to Bayern v Bremen:

Louis van Gaal: “I’m not happy with the result, but I’m pleased enough with the match. We were outstanding in the first 30 minutes, but we failed to score. And then Werder scored with their first attack. That was very disappointing for my players. It was easy for Bremen to defend with ten men after that. It’s always difficult in that situation, but we still created six or seven chances, and I’m pleased with that. However, I’m not happy with the number of chances we missed. I reckon we’d have deserved the win based on our chances in the second half.”
