What a week it’s been for Thomas Müller! The young striker fired his first Bundesliga goals in Saturday’s 5-1 win away to Dortmund, and followed up with another brace on Tuesday, this time in the Champions League, as Bayern beat Maccabi Haifa 3-0 in Tel Aviv. The goalscoring feats sandwiched another special event for the player, who turned 20 on Sunday.
Müller remains remarkably unaffected by his new-found celebrity status, with approving comments from the great and good, and headlines all over the press. “It’s all coming from outside, not from me. What mattered to me was winning, because it was hard work. We can go home happy,” the FCB youth product declared after his double strike at the Ramat Gan stadium.
