You could call it a late birthday present. On 2 December, a day ahead of the home meeting with Mönchengladbach, Danijel Pranjic turned 28. “I’ve always scored when I’ve played on my birthday,” the Croat declared. He failed to net against Gladbach and Juventus, but the great moment arrived in Saturday’s 5-1 win over Bochum: on his 17th outing in a Bayern jersey, the utility man opened his account for the club.
“I’m really thrilled about my first goal for Bayern. It's the icing on the cake for me personally after a fabulous week with wins against Gladbach, Juventus and Bochum,” Pranjic commented after making it 5-0 to Munich in Bochum. In 30 games for SC Heerenveen last term, Pranjic netted 16 goals and also provided seven assists.
