The shape of the Bayern squad for next season took on another firm contour on Wednesday with the news that midfield utility man Hamit Altintop, whose current contract was set to expire on 30 June 2010, has extended his stay at Germany’s most successful club by a further year until 30 June 2011.

“I’m very attached to the club," Altintop recently said prior to inking today’s new deal. Bayern have already agreed an extension until 2015 with superstar Franck Ribéry, while talented youngster Diego Contento has also concluded terms keeping him at FCB until 2013. The only players definitely known to be leaving Bayern so far are Michael Rensing and Andreas Görlitz.
