Four days after a last-gasp 2-1 win away to then second-placed Hoffenheim, Bayern are determined to chalk up another victory when surprise league leaders FSV Mainz visit the Allianz Arena on Saturday (Live in English from 3.15 pm CET on Web Radio). “We’re still under a little bit of pressure, because we don’t yet have the points we wanted. So we’re obviously going to go all out to win,” said Thomas Müller.

Bayern beat Wolfsburg 2-1 in their first home fixture of term, but were subsequently held to goalless draws in Munich by both Bremen and Köln. Van Gaal’s men are determined to celebrate the second Oktoberfest weekend with a gala display at the Arena. “The season has just started for real,” stated Daniel van Buyten, scorer of the late winner in Hoffenheim: “We always want to win in front of our home crowd, and we’ll do whatever it takes.”
