FCB under pressure

Three points a must at home to Frankfurt

The situation in the Bundesliga standings is tense and the pressure is on Bayern, but in the build up to the home meeting with Eintracht Frankfurt, Louis van Gaal was visibly relaxed. “It's all still wide open. What we’ve managed so far this season is fantastic,” the Bayern boss declared on the eve of Saturday’s Allianz Arena clash with the men from Hesse (Live in English from 3.15 pm CET on Web Radio).

Despite a cruel run of injuries, “we’re playing much better football than last year,” said the 59-year-old. Bayern have comfortably won Group E in the Champions League, and are only a point behind where they were at the same stage last season in the Bundesliga. “Our only problem is Dortmund,” said van Gaal, “Dortmund are further ahead as leaders than Leverkusen a year ago.”
