Some three weeks prior to the start of the Bundesliga’s traditional mid-season break, the details of Bayern’s early fixtures in the second half of the domestic campaign have been finalised. On Friday, the German Football League (DFL) announced the final schedule for the first five top flight matches in the new year, with FCB scheduled to play at 3.30 pm on Saturday in all five games.
The break ends on 15 January when the champions travel to face VfL Wolfsburg. A week later, on 22 January, Bayern entertain Kaiserslautern at the Allianz Arena. Should FCB qualify, their DFB Cup quarter-final would be in midweek on 25 or 26 January, before the champions return to league action away to Bremen on 29 January. The match a week later on 5 February is also away from home in Cologne, before the fifth game – after Germany’s international friendly against Italy on 9 February – at home to Hoffenheim on 12 February.
The next fixture marks the return of the Champions League with the Round of 16 away leg on 15 or 16 February. Bayern’s opponents will be determined in the draw for the last sixteen on 17 December at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
