Bayern came from behind to salvage a point in Hamburg, “and I’m satisfied with my players’ determination, attitude and concentration,” Jupp Heynckes said afterwards. However, the 66-year-old was not pleased with the result: “We came here to win.” Thomas Müller said he was “disappointed and annoyed, but on the other hand, we can’t say it was a poor display, so we’re caught between two stools“.
Reaction to Hamburg v Bayern:
Jupp Heynckes: “I’m satisfied with my players’ determination, attitude and concentration, but we came here to win. That’s what we demand as a team. We had to work really hard after going a goal down. Drobny made a few good saves. We deserved the equaliser, but we should have applied more pressure after that. But we’re finding that hard at the moment: on the one hand we were hurried, on the other the final pass went astray. We’re a little short of confidence. We’d rather be top of the table of course, but it all doesn’t mean much at this stage.“
