Andries Jonker to leave FC Bayern

FC Bayern II head coach Andries Jonker (49) has informed director of sport Christian Nerlinger of his desire to leave FC Bayern Munich at his own request once his contract expires on 30 June 2012.

“Parting company with FC Bayern is not easy,” commented Jonker, who joined the club in 2009 as Louis van Gaal’s assistant. “I’ve had a wonderful time here at this club, with fantastic experiences and successes. However, I’m now looking for a new personal sporting challenge.“

“We’d like to thank Andries Jonker for his work at FC Bayern,” commented Nerlinger. “We’ve not forgotten that he guided our team to Champions League qualification in a very critical phase in the five weeks leading up to the end of the 2010/11 season. We wish Andries and his family all the very best.“
