Confident Bayern gear up for Dortmund clash

Some 2,000 die-hard fans braved the freezing cold and driving snow to watch their Bayern heroes work out on Easter Sunday, just one measure of the feverish excitement gripping the German footballing family ahead of Wednesday's “clash of the titans", as Karl-Heinz Rummenigge put it. Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund entertain second-placed Bayern, “a meeting between the best two teams, who are on a par with each other," the FCB chairman continued.

However, before the Bayern party sets off for the Ruhr Valley on Tuesday, Jupp Heynckes called his men in for a workout on Easter Monday. One group performed positioning and skills exercises out on the training pitch, with other players jogging round the facility or working out in the weights room, in a mixture of regeneration training and specific pre-match routines. “Up until Saturday our focus was on previous matches, but now we've started preparing for Dortmund," reported Toni Kroos.
