Bayern completed a comfortable 4–0 aggregate victory over Marseille on Tuesday, “and we’re all satisfied," said Franck Ribéry, as he and his team-mates booked a Champions League semi-final berth. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge felt it was a “great game" and that FCB are “in good shape,” a sentiment shared by Jupp Heynckes: “Manuel Neuer saved us a couple of times in the first half, but we came back strongly, and at the end of the day, we deserved the victory."
Reaction to Bayern v Marseille:
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge: “It was a great display from our team. We controlled the match and deservedly won. We're in good shape. Fortunately, we're still in contention in all three competitions. We're taking them all seriously, and we’re well set up for these “Bavarian weeks", which is what we're going through now. We have a match every three or four days, so you need strong nerves – and I do believe that's what we have."
Jupp Heynckes: “Making the semi-final is a great success at this stage of the season. We were very focused, despite the huge number of games we have to get through at the moment. Manuel Neuer saved us a couple of times in the first half, but we came back strongly, and at the end of the day, we deserved the victory. Marseille didn't make the quarter-finals by accident. After all, they knocked out strong opposition like Dortmund and Inter Milan."
