The Bayern camp was satisfied after the 2-1 victory over champions Dortmund in Sunday's Supercup. Jupp Heynckes felt his side played “with good organisation and huge discipline” in the first half, although he put the match into perspective as well: “It was the Supercup, but it was still a pre-season game. Both teams can still improve." Visiting coach Jürgen Klopp congratulated FCB, because it was “a fair result."
Reaction to Bayern v Dortmund:
Jupp Heynckes: “It was a pulse check. Especially in the first half we played very well with good organisation and huge discipline. We had some great moments when we attacked. We were inspired by the early goals. Dortmund worked up a head of steam in the second half, and we weren't as well-organised and disciplined in defence. Overall we deserved to win, although it was hard fought. It was the Supercup, but it was still a pre-season game. Both teams can still improve. Obviously, winning today is a psychological boost."
