Bayern stars predict tough encounter

Families have been in focus at Bayern of late. After training on Monday lunchtime, Arjen Robben was visited at the Säbener Strasse by his kids and parents, and assistant coach Hermann Gerland welcomed his little grandchild. On the previous day, the players and the coaching and support staff brought their wives, partners and children to a magnificent family brunch hosted by the board of directors. “It was really nice and the atmosphere was great," Robben told, “the family is very important. The players need support from home."

That is never more true than the intense period in the autumn, when the players are frequently on the road and spend little time at home. The stars must concentrate 100 percent on their football, and right now that means Valencia. Bayern open their Champions League campaign against the club with the bat on its badge this Wednesday.
