Bayern lead the Bundesliga after two matches – and FCB have also finished top of a new national Facebook ranking published by consultancy Divia. In the detailed analysis of Facebook fan pages, Germany’s biggest club scored 94 out of a possible 100 points, finishing clearly ahead of Dortmund (84 points) and Gladbach (77).
Points were awarded for Content, Presentation and Interactivity in the period from 16 July until 14 August 2012. As the consultancy said: “We were convinced by FC Bayern in all three categories.“ The Munich club is also streets ahead of its Bundesliga rivals in terms of Facebook fans with 4.85 million on 3 September 2012, although ‘likes’ do not play a significant role in this survey, as simply possessing a large number of followers does not by any means guarantee a good Facebook presence.
Successful start on Twitter
Complementing our Facebook activities, FC Bayern also officially launched a Twitter presence on 23 August 2012. Just one hour after the launch, the official account had attracted more than 4,000 followers, with the total now up to 26,000 on 3 September 2012, the fifth-best in the Bundesliga. Overall, it was one of the most successful German language Twitter account launches ever.
