Bayern's superb winning run continued on Saturday with a hard-earned 2-0 victory over Werder Bremen, meaning Germany's biggest club have now won their last nine matches and equalled a club record set in 1984/85. But despite the success, the reaction from the FCB camp was not exclusively positive. “We made a lot of mistakes today. We didn't invest enough," said board director for sport Matthias Sammer.
Reaction to Bremen v Bayern:
Matthias Sammer: “It wasn't good enough until we scored the opening goal, we have to be clear about that. It's not a question about it not being a good performance when you work hard and win at the end. But we made a lot of mistakes today, and that’s not good enough. It's not always about simply looking at the result, you have to judge the performance as well.“
Jupp Heynckes: “We slowed things down too much in the first half. The players tested my patience a little too much, but at the end of the day, it was enough to beat a strong Bremen side, although I had to use some strong language at half-time.“
