Reaction to Valencia v Bayern

Chairman: Result satisfactory, performance not

Bayern have achieved their initial target of a place in the Champions League Round of 16, “and that’s the important thing,” commented captain Philipp Lahm. However, the Munich camp was less than thrilled about Tuesday’s performance against a Valencia side who went a man down after barely more than half an hour. “We can be satisfied with the result but not with the game,” declared Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, “we need to get into gear and hit the gas again.”

Reaction to Valencia v Bayern:

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge: “We can be satisfied with the result but not with the game. If you have an extra man for an hour but end up being relieved it’s finished 1-1, that isn’t satisfactory. At the moment, there’s too much playing for a result for my liking. I’d already spotted this against Nürnberg. We need to get into gear and hit the gas again. We have a tough week coming up with games against Hannover, Freiburg and Dortmund.”
