Scintillating Bayern turned in a gala display to thrash LOSC Lille 6–1 in Champions League Group F on Wednesday evening, leaving boss Jupp Heynckes “thoroughly satisfied." The head coach was delighted with his side's “textbook passing and wonderful finishing." Arjen Robben felt it was “a superb game. Especially in the first half, it was football at its best. That's how we have to carry on."
Reaction to Bayern v LOSC Lille::
Jupp Heynckes: “Naturally, I'm thoroughly satisfied with our performance as a team. I think we could all see my team were very motivated and very focused going into the match. Everything went like clockwork for us in the first half. We saw textbook passing and wonderful finishing. On top of that, we've finally done better again with set plays.”
Philipp Lahm: “We scored the early goal and followed it up straight away. In those circumstances things go your way. We take every opponent seriously. We want this to carry on. We're working hard, and we set off at a tremendous pace, so we made it look easy.”
