The colourful shop windows, the typical decor and the popular outdoor markets make Christmas special for many people, and the personalities at Bayern are no exception. “I always looked forward to Christmas as a kid, and it's still the same today," reflected chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. He and his wife Martina have five children, “and they all come to us, nowadays with my grandchild. I'm looking forward to a wonderful evening."
Captain Philipp Lahm, who became a father for the first time a few months ago, takes a similar view. “Christmas is a festival for all the family. We now have our son Julian and it'll be our first holiday together, which makes it very special." Lahm will spend Christmas Eve, traditionally the main focus of the holiday season in Germany, with his family. They will join forces to decorate the tree, before a meal of fondue.
