Former Bayern youth Stephan Fürstner nowadays pulls the midfield strings for Greuther Fürth, FCB's opponents on Saturday. In a decade with the Munich giants, Fürstner represented the club at every youth level and played 96 times for the reserves, with his solitary Bundesliga appearance in red coming in a 1-1 draw with Gladbach in May 2007. The Munich-born 25-year-old, who joined Fürth in 2009, spoke to fcbayern.de.
Interview: Stephan Fürstner
fcbayern.de: A planned friendly against Unterhaching last Tuesday was cancelled due to a selection crisis. Is the crisis over?
Stephan Fürstner: It's a shame it had to be cancelled, because I need match practice after illness, and some guys were hoping to make comebacks. But we have a big squad and we can compensate.
Coach Mike Büskens never had his full squad together for your winter training camp in Belek, Turkey. Are you ready for the restart?
Overall it's been positive, because we did well in an indoor tournament in Frankfurt, and we played good football in our three friendlies, although it's by no means perfect yet, of course.
