After yet another victory and yet another clean sheet, the mood in the Bayern camp following Sunday's victory away to Stuttgart was upbeat and satisfied. “We were significantly better than against Fürth," said Jupp Heynckes, “it was a very composed display." However, the boss felt his men lacked urgency in the first half, “and I complained about that at half-time. We were much better in the second period."
Reaction to Stuttgart v Bayern:
Jupp Heynckes: “We were significantly better than against Fürth. My team was very composed for the full 90 minutes, and totally focused right from the start. Our shape and organisation were excellent, our movement was tactically very good, and we let them have almost nothing in attack. But in the first half, we just lacked a little flair, determination and urgency. We failed to get away the final ball, the cross or the shot at goal. I complained about that at half-time. We were much better in the second period. Stuttgart pulled everyone back so it was never easy, but that's when you have to raise your game, which is what we did in the second half. Ultimately, you force your opponents into errors.”
