Martinez: German football suits me well

Javi Martinez has well and truly arrived at Bayern. He scored his second goal for the club in last Saturday's Bremen clash, and reaped a chorus of praise afterwards. “We were hoping Martinez would really get going after a full preparation phase, and it's proved the case," said chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, “as we can now see, he’s exceptionally valuable to the club when he's physically fit."

Prior to the DFB Cup showdown against Borussia Dortmund, talked to the Spaniard, who switched to Bavaria six months ago. What is he expecting on Wednesday evening? Has he settled into the Bundesliga? And how does he cope with the snow?

Interview: Javi Martinez Javi, it's the eve of the big cup clash with Dortmund. What are you expecting from the match?
Javi Martinez: Obviously, the Bundesliga fixture in early December is still fresh in the memory. It was a good encounter and very intense. I'm expecting the same in the cup quarter-final, although there’s even more pressure because it's a knockout match. But we're ready.
