‘Giving it their all’

BVB is in the past – now for Hoffenheim

No question, it was one of the highlights of the season. Rarely has the Allianz Arena experienced the passion felt last Wednesday, when Bayern highly deservedly tipped Borussia Dortmund out of the DFB Cup. “This victory adds to our self-belief – it confirms we’re on the right track,” observed Matthias Sammer on Friday to FCB.tv as he reflected on the performance. Coach Jupp Heynckes thinks so too: “That was very important in terms of the rest of the season.”

That begins at 3.30 pm on Sunday afternoon when the runaway Bundesliga leaders visit second to bottom 1899 Hoffenheim. Could they come a cropper? Director of Sport Sammer isn’t worried about the prospect: “I was pleased with training today. They were really giving it their all. We have to keep doing what we've been doing, but I’m optimistic we can.”
