Bayern will be without Franck Ribéry in the Champions League Round of 16 return at home to English Premier League side Arsenal on Wednesday evening. France winger Ribéry sprained his left ankle in Munich's 3-2 home win over Fortuna Düsseldorf on Saturday and will not be fit in time to face the Gunners. Bastian Schweinsteiger and Jerome Boateng also miss the game with suspension.
First visit for Kralovec
Wednesday's last sixteen clash at the Allianz Arena will be refereed by Pavel Kralovec, the first time the 35-year-old Czech will have taken charge of a game involving either side. Overall, Kralovec has officiated at six Champions League matches, including the 1-1 draw between Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund in this season's group stage.
Suspension risk for FCB pair
Bayern duo Dante and Javi Martinez go into the return leg against Arsenal desperately hoping to avoid yellow cards. Both players have been booked twice in this season’s competition so far, and would be suspended for a potential quarter-final first leg in early April on collecting another card.
