Bayern go into Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final second leg against Barcelona with a four-goal lead and high hopes of booking a place in the final at Wembley in London on 25 May. “We threw the door wide open with our home performance, but we’ve not taken a single step through it. That’s what we want to do tomorrow,” said Bastian Schweinsteiger prior to the match at Camp Nou (Live in English from 8.45 pm CET on fcb.de free Web Radio).
“It’s a wonderful going-in position,” agreed FCB chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge before boarding the plane to Catalonia, although he warned that nothing can be taken for granted in the return meeting with the runaway Spanish league leaders. “We’re not relaxed as we travel to Barcelona, we’re focused and motivated. Our big target is to make the final in London, so being relaxed would be the wrong approach.”
