Rummenigge: It was a magnificent display

Bayern have an excellent chance of making the Champions League semi-finals after beating Juventus 2-0 at home on Tuesday with goals from David Alaba and Thomas Müller. “It was a magnificent match. We can be extremely satisfied, not just with the result, but also with the way we played. That was our best game in the Champions League this season," said FCB chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

Reaction to Bayern v Juventus:

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge: “It was a magnificent match. We can be extremely satisfied, not just with the result, but also with the way we played. That was our best game in the Champions League this season. Obviously, we had the chances to make it three, but it's the result we wanted. We'll travel to Turin feeling optimistic. Everyone in the team worked magnificently and we always played our football. It was a super evening of European football for us. We've put ourselves in a good position to go through, but the return will still be tough. We must avoid arrogance and complacency.”

Jupp Heynckes: “We prepared well, as you could see from our tactical approach. We disrupted their play and took Pirlo out of the game. Overall, we were brimming with confidence and played outstanding football, although you also have to be up for the fight. In the first instance, we're pleased we've won against an Italian team while keeping a clean sheet. That was top-class football for long spells, and an impressive result against the reigning Italian champions, who look odds-on to retain their title.”
