FC Bayern vowed to help, and that pledge has now taken on concrete form: the treble winners will aid those affected by the devastating flood catastrophe in parts of Bavaria earlier this summer by playing the promised fund-raising match on 1 September 2013 at 3 pm CET in Passau. All revenue raised from the meeting with a Regional XI will be donated to victims of the flooding.
“When we saw the dramatic images from the flooded areas, we knew we needed to offer quick and uncomplicated assistance. We’re now doing exactly that,” commented FC Bayern München AG chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. “Our team has benefited from so much support from the people of Bavaria over recent weeks and months. We now wish to give something back.”
