Schweinsteiger: We're even hungrier now

There was plenty of deserved applause for the Paulaner Dream Team as they trudged to their post-match reception in the courtyard of the Du Lac et Du Parc Hotel at around 9.30 pm on Friday night. The amateurs downed cold Weissbier, and proud smiles returned to their faces, because ealier in the evening, they had emerged from the Paulaner Cup meeting with mighty Bayern with great credit.

Until that point, they had not come across Bastian Schweinsteiger and Mario Götze, as the FCB vice-captain is still recovering from surgery on his foot, and the summer signing is in sports rehab training after rupturing a muscle. However, the Dream Team still got to meet the two stars of the game, as the players joined the amateurs for dinner and took questions from presenter and Dream Team coach Waldemar Hartmann. listened in as Schweinsteiger talked.

…his injury:
“I want to return to squad training as quickly as possible. It's getting better. That's the most important signal. I can't yet say for certain when I'll be back. I'm taking each day as it comes, and we hope it keeps going so well. But you have to look after your body."
