Reaction to Bayern v Mönchengladbach

Guardiola ‘satisfied’ with first league win

Bayern are off the mark with the first three points of the new Bundesliga season, “and that's a good start," commented Philipp Lahm after Friday evening's 3-1 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach, “we're pleased to get into the season after 45 days preparing for it." Coach Pep Guardiola said he was “satisfied," but feels his men “need a couple more wins to build up our confidence."

Reaction to Bayern v Mönchengladbach:

Pep Guardiola: “We knew it would be a tough match. It's always hard work against Gladbach. We had no control over the match in the first 15 minutes of the second half. We're satisfied with this first victory, but we need a couple more wins to build up our confidence.”

Philipp Lahm: “What matters is to win the first game of the season, so that's a good start. After we conceded an unlucky goal, the momentum was with our opponents. But we’re pleased to get into the season after 45 days preparing for it.”
