It has become a much-loved and appreciated annual ritual for the Bayern stars: right on time for the start of the new campaign, the players and the coaching staff take delivery of their ‘company cars’ for the season. After morning training on the day after winning the Audi Cup, Pep Guardiola and his troops travelled to Ingolstadt, where Audi chairman Rupert Stadler met the FCB party in Audi Piazza and handed over the keys to the new vehicles.
Götze takes up squad training programme
New signing Mario Götze is continuing his recovery from a ligament injury. The 21-year-old began working out with the ball at the start of the week, and was able to complete parts of the team training programme for the first time on Friday morning. “I’m delighted to be training with the other players,” he told FCB News afterwards, “I hope I recover full fitness again as quickly as possible.” In addition to the squad workouts, the player will continue to pursue an individual programme over the next few days.
