Reaction to Bayern v Braunschweig

Guardiola: I’m pleased with the result

Bayern showed no weaknesses in Saturday's clash between the clubs occupying first and last places in the Bundesliga. Coach Pep Guardiola was ultimately pleased with the 2-0 victory against Eintracht Braunschweig. “It was a difficult match, coming straight after Dortmund and Moscow,” said the FCB head coach. Two-goal Arjen Robben added: “When you come back and play on a decent pitch, it’s really fun.”

Reaction to Bayern v Braunschweig:

Pep Guardiola: “It was a difficult match, coming straight after Dortmund and Moscow. Today was a completely different game. We gave rotation a shot and brought in Mandzukic. I’m pleased. Robben is very important to us and scores a lot of goals. As we all saw, Braunschweig had chances of their own. The Bundesliga is a very challenging league.”

Arjen Robben: “It was a tough match in Moscow, as was the whole trip. When you come back and play on a decent pitch, it’s really fun.”

Torsten Lieberknecht (Braunschweigcoach): “It was a big game for us, a big day. We knew that this would be a monumental challenge. In the first half we were too passive, in the second we did much better. We also had a handful of chances. At the end of the day we did a decent job. Of course it was a deserved victory for Bayern.”

Dominik Kumbela (Braunschweig): “We tackled a world-class team, the Champions League winners. We didn’t do too badly in the second half. We’ve learned a lot for our upcoming games.”
