'Smile please!' for Robben and Co

Several of the Bayern starts were in front of the camera on Monday - on the one hand for the Trentino training camp and on the other for the fan shop catalogue. It was lights, camera, action for the first players at 8:30 in the morning. That included the Reds’ goalscoring strike force from the day before: Arjen Robben, Mario Mandzukic, Mario Götze and Franck Ribéry. Other players followed in various outfits after the morning training session.

Back to the grindstone after gala

Jack Frost was out and about in freezing Munich the day after FCB’s crushing 5-0 win against Eintracht Frankfurt. However, there was little chance for some of the stars to take a breather at the Säbener Strasse facility on Monday: Pep Guardiola put the players who did not feature at the Allianz Arena well and truly through their paces on the training ground. And David Alaba, Dante, Götze, Rafinha and Xherdan Shaqiri completed some warm-down running drills. The rest of the starting line-up were hard at work in the gym. Bastian Schweinsteiger continued sports rehab work on the road to his comeback.

Two FCB strikes in Goal of the Year top four

The Schalke joint production by Julian Draxler and Raul was voted Goal of the Year 2013 by the fans on the ARD Sportschau with 18.92 percent of the votes cast. Goals netted by FC Bayern also made it into the top four: 13.42 percent voted for Franck Ribéry’s wonder strike on matchday 34 at Gladbach, which claimed second spot. Bastian Schweinsteiger was in fourth place with his brilliant back-heeled winner in the 1-0 victory in Frankfurt on 6 April (12.96 percent).
