On Thursday the German Football League (DFL) announced the exact fixture details for Bundesliga Matchdays 29 and 30. Bayern’s top-of-the-table clash against Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena is on Saturday 12 April at 6.30 pm CET. The derby at FC Augsburg the previous week (Saturday 5 April) kicks off at 3.30 CET.
Lahm in top five
Philipp Lahm earned his 106th cap for Germany in Wednesday night’s friendly against Chile to leave Jürgen Kohler (105 games) in his wake. Only four players have made more international appearances for Germany. Bastian Schweinsteiger drew level with Thomas Häßler on 101 caps and is now in ninth place in the rankings.
Hojbjerg impresses with Denmark
Bayern first teamers were not the only players on international duty on Wednesday as a number of young Reds also played for their countries. That included Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for the Denmark U21s, determined to make his mark in a European Championship qualifier. The 18-year-old netted twice in a runaway 8-0 victory over Estonia. Austria U21 international Alessandro Schöpf came on as a substitute on 55 minutes in a 3-1 defeat against Albania but he was unable to influence the outcome of the game. Striker Kevin Friesenbichler was an unused sub. And finally, talented FCB youngster Daniel Hägler did not feature in a 3-1 reverse for the Germany U18s against France in Lübeck.
