Reaction to HSV v FCB

Boss: Good for our rhythm

Bayern returned to Munich from their last Bundesliga away trip of the season with the full complement of three points. The champions beat Hamburger SV 4-1 on Saturday to make it 28 league wins this season. “We did very well today and we’d worked up a head of steam by the end, so we can go home satisfied,” commented Toni Kroos after the contest against relegation-threatened HSV.

Reaction to HSV v FCB

Pep Guardiola: “We fought our way into the match. The win was good for our rhythm as we prepare for the cup final in Berlin.”

Arjen Robben: “We basically played well in the first half, but in the second we had more space and used it well. We were very dangerous and scored some good goals. We have the quality to do that.“

Toni Kroos: “We did very well today and we’d worked up a head of steam by the end, so we can go home satisfied.“

Oliver Kreuzer (HSV sporting director): “We played very well. Our passion and aggression was top class. We wanted to get at Bayern high up the field and force them into errors. It worked very well, especially in the first half.“

Mirko Slomka (HSV coach): “Their second was the turning point. But there were good things about our performance today, our utter determination for example.“

Heiko Westermann (HSV captain): “We were outstanding at first and matched them. The difference was Bayern scoring from their first chance.“
