In the final away match of the campaign against Hamburg, FC Bayern set another new league record. The champions hit four goals and now have an unprecedented 46 on the road this term. The previous best was set by Werder Bremen with 43 goals away from home in 2006/07.
Pizarro overtakes Matthäus
The best goal of the day in Hamburg was scored by Claudio Pizarro. Just two minutes after coming on as a sub the Peruvian rounded off the scoring in Bayern’s 4-1 win with an overhead kick. It was Pizza’s 86th Bundesliga strike for Bayern, and takes him past Lothar Matthäus in the FCB all-time goalscoring chart. The 35-year-old is now level with Uli Hoeneß in seventh spot. HSV are without doubt Pizarro’s favourite opponents: he has scored 19 against the northerners, more than against any other club.
Milestones for Neuer and Dante
Two Bayern stars passed personal milestones in Hamburg. Just a day after inking a contract extension with FCB, keeper Manuel Neuer made his 250th Bundesliga appearance, 94 of them for Munich. And centre-back Dante has now played 150 top flight matches, including 57 for Bayern.
Götze and Müller equal personal bests
Mario Götze and Thomas Müller equalled their own personal bests in Hamburg. Two-goal Götze is now up to ten for the season, the same as his pervious best last term. Müller scored his 13th on the campaign, equal to his PBs from the 2009/10 and 2012/13 seasons.
