Allianz, long-term partner of FC Bayern Munich and the Allianz Arena’s naming rights holder, is pleased to invite all FCB fans and families to the first big event of the new season. The squad will take their first bow in front of the fans on 9 August – complete with all the players from the World Cup plus new signings Robert Lewandowski and Sebastian Rode. The two trophies won last season will also be on show.
“We're again looking forward this year to be working with our longstanding partner Allianz in providing our fans with a great day out for all the family,” said FC Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. “The event on the ninth of August will be very special. The fans will see the full squad for the 2014/15 season at the Allianz Arena for the first time after the World Cup and our USA tour.”
Tickets are available from Friday 27 June for €5 (plus postage and packing) from the FCB online ticket shop and from the ticket office in the ServiceCenter (Säbener Str. 55, 81547 Munich) at a later date. Ticket sales revenue will be donated to a children's foundation backed by Allianz. Allianz staff and agents support over 200 regional projects each year for children and young people in need in Germany.
The family fun day on the esplanade at the Allianz Arena starts at 2 pm CET on 9 August. The official team presentation at the Arena begins at 4 pm CET with stadium announcer Stephan Lehmann acting as the MC. The players will be introduced to the fans individually. The first team squad will then complete an exhibition training session led by coach Pep Guardiola.
There will be an additional highlight this year. Paul Breitner, FC Bayern brand ambassador and 1974 World Cup winner, will lead out the FC Bayern All Stars against the Manchester United Legends. This unique clash will see former pros from the two clubs, including Paul Scholes, Dwight Yorke, Owen Hargreaves, Paulo Sérgio and Mark van Bommel, come out of retirement to put on another display of their talents on the pitch.
“The team presentation at the Allianz Arena is a special event for us all and the ideal opportunity to get ready for the new campaign with the fans, our customers, staff and of course our partner FC Bayern Munich. I'm particularly happy the ticket sales will be used for a good cause. Live streaming and social media will also make the event available to fans from all over the world,” commented Allianz SE Head of Group Market Management Joseph K. Gross.
