Julian Green was an unused sub but still a happy man late on Monday evening at the World Cup in Brazil. The FCB reserve striker watched from the bench as USA battled to a hard-fought and dramatic late win over Ghana. Clint Dempsey scored the fifth-fastest ever goal at the final after just 32 seconds to open the scoring for Jürgen Klinsmann’s US side. Andre Ayew levelled after 82 minutes, but Hertha Berlin’s John Brooks struck four minutes from time to seal the points in Natal. Green & Co now have an excellent chance of emerging from Group G, where Germany are favourites after their 4-0 demolition of Portugal.
