Wolfsburg’s Perisic ruled out of opener
VfL Wolfsburg are likely to be without Ivan Perisic for an extended period. The Croat requires corrective surgery after breaking his left shoulder, club doctors have announced. Perisic sustained the injury in Sunday's Telekom Cup final against Bayern, although the damage was initially not thought to be serious. In the event, the 25-year-old is likely to be sidelined for several months. Perisic will miss Wolfsburg's Bundesliga trip to face FCB at the Allianz Arena in the official Bundesliga season opener on 22 August at 8.30 pm.
