Reaction to Münster v FCB

Guardiola: I'm satisfied with the performance

Even without a host of important players, Bayern comfortably overcame third division SC Preußen Münster in the DFB Cup first round on Sunday. “I want to congratulate my team on a focused display,” commented boss Pep Guardiola after a routine 4-1 win that featured five of FCB’s six World Cup winners. “I'm satisfied with the performance,” the Spaniard summarised.

Reaction to Preußen Münster v Bayern

Pep Guardiola: “I want to congratulate my team on a focused display, although Münster were better than us until Mario Götze’s goal. We improved after that and were much better in the second half. I'm satisfied with the performance, but everyone can see we still need time.”

Philipp Lahm: “We were determined to make the next round. We’re obviously not at 100 percent yet, but we need matches to get there.”

Mario Götze: “We can be relatively pleased. The early goal was important. What mattered today was making the next round. We’ve reached a good level, but know we still have work to do on our fitness.”

Holger Badstuber: “We always had it under control today and we can go home with a good feeling. I’m delighted I got to play, I really enjoyed it and we won, so it’s been a good day.”

Dante: “We played well today. There are always things you can work on, but we’re happy with that performance.”

Ralf Loose (Preußen Münster coach): “We gave a very good account of ourselves, our tactics were well-suited to our opponents, we were courageous and we had more shots at goal than them in the first half, although the finishing demonstrated their individual class.”
