The Bayern stars have set off for their Champions League appointment in Rome. The Lufthansa charter jet bearing the squad, coaching staff and officials took off from Munich early on Monday afternoon as the build-up continues towards the Group E clash with AS Roma on Tuesday evening (Live in English from 20:45 / 8.45 pm CET on Twitter and Free Web Radio). In the morning, Pep Guardiola put his men through their paces in the final pre-match training session at the Säbener Strasse facility.

David Alaba was substituted at half-time in the weekend Bundesliga clash with Bremen after turning an ankle, but completed the workout without difficulty and told he would be fit to play. Comeback kid Franck Ribéry is also in the travelling party, where he is joined by Claudio Pizarro: the Peru striker sat out the Bremen fixture following an arduous round trip to South America for the midweek internationals.

Tom Starke misses out with injury, his place as backup keeper going to young FCB reserves goalie Leopold Zingerle. The obligatory pre-match press conference in Rome will feature Guardiola, Arjen Robben and Thomas Müller and takes place in the early evening.
