Bayern have suffered a setback on the news that veteran striker Claudio Pizarro will be out of action for the next few weeks. The Peruvian sustained ruptured muscle fibres in his right thigh in training on Monday and now faces a long lay-off. “It’s obviously a real shame,” the 36-year-old told fcbayern.de. “I’m crossing my fingers for the team and I hope they can maintain our great run. I’m sure we’ll continue to pick up points in the Bundesliga and Champions League even without me.” Pizarro has made nine appearances so far this season and has scored one goal.
