FC Bayern officially ‘entered’ the German parliament on Tuesday evening when around 50 current members and former parliamentarians met at Jakob-Kaiser-Haus in Berlin to celebrate the founding of the cross-party “Berlin Fraktion” official FCB fan club. FC Bayern were represented at the event by brand ambassador Paul Breitner and fan and fan club liaison manager Raimond Aumann. FC Bayern Munich currently has 3,764 registered fan clubs with a total of 293,171 members.

No Cup of Nations for Benatia

FC Bayern will almost certainly be able to call upon Mehdi Benatia when the second half of the Bundesliga season kicks off in late January 2015, as the Morocco captain will not now be competing at the Africa Cup of Nations 2015 from 17 January to 8 February. On Tuesday, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) stripped Morocco of the hosting rights and expelled the national team from the tournament after the Moroccan association pressed for a year’s delay due to the Ebola epidemic in a handful of African countries. CAF aims to announce a new host nation for the 2015 tournament in the next few days.
