Award for Jerome – and for

Jérôme Boateng, pictured with former biathlete Magdalena Neuner, has received an Audi Generation Award, presented to the 26-year-old defender by Neuner at a ceremony in Munich this week. The World Cup winner and Bayern star was honoured in the Public Choice category for his sporting achievement, but especially for his commitment as patron of the Living a Dream project operated by Pro Kinderhilfe e.V., a charity supporting UNESCO. The project helps fund football pitches with associated training and education facilities for street children in Brazil. The Audi Generation Award was launched in 2007. Previous winners from FC Bayern include Manuel Neuer (2013), Thomas Müller (2010) und Philipp Lahm (2007).

We’re Website of the Year!

Thanks to huge support from Reds fans, has been named most popular website of the year in the sports category by German online market research organisation Metrix-Lab. The accolade resulted from a Metrix-Lab user survey conducted from 6 October to 14 November 2014, attracting in excess of 431,000 votes. Users were asked to rate 228 websites in 19 categories. Apart from, the sports category included websites operated by Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Hamburger SV. The Website des Jahres poll has been conducted annually since 2004.
