Long winning streak against Werder
FC Bayern have won their last eight Bundesliga meetings with SV Werder Bremen, scoring an impressive 35 goals at an average of more than four per game. The Reds' last defeat to the northerners dates back six and a half years when Bremen won 5-2 at the Allianz Arena.
However, FC Bayern have lost more often to Werder in the Bundesliga than to any other club. Of the 97 meetings so far, the men in green and white have won 26, with 46 victories to FCB.
Clash of the form teams
In a table compiled only from the matches played since the winter break, FC Bayern lead the way with 16 points from seven matches - but Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen have also collected the same number of points, albeit with a significantly worse goal difference.
Kinhöfer in charge
Thorsten Kinhöfer from Herne has been appointed to referee the north-south clash. The seasoned match official has taken charge of 40 previous games involving FC Bayern, with 24 of them ending in wins for Munich. This season, Kinhöfer refereed FCB's 2-0 home win over Stuttgart in mid-September. His assistants on Saturday are Christian Fischer and Frederick Assmuth, with Frank Willenborg as the fourth official.
