FC Bayern announce major pre-season trip to China

After last year’s success of FC Bayern’s big US-trip, the German Champions will go on a major tour again in the summer of 2015: Head Coach Pep Guardiola’s team will travel to China from 16 to 24 July and plans three high profile friendly games against FC Valencia, Inter Milan and Guangzhou Evergrande. The FC Bayern Munich summer tour 2015 will be presented by partner Audi – just as last year’s USA tour.

A good three weeks before the opening game of the Bundesliga season 2015/2016 in the Allianz Arena on 14 August, the Audi Summer Tour through China will be one of the great highlights in the preparation for the new season. Head Coach Pep Guardiola’s team will spend one week in Asia and will play two international top clubs and also a local heavy weight. The tour will be named after Audi and the German Champions will visit three metropolises.

On 18 July FC Bayern will face the six times Spanish Champion FC Valencia in the Olympic Stadium “Bird‘s Nest” in Beijing. Three days later the team from Munich will play against the 18 times Italian Champion Inter Milan in Shanghai. The games against the Champions League final opponents of 2001 (Valencia) and 2010 (Inter) will go under the well-known title Audi Football Summit. The last leg of the Audi Summer Tour 2015 will be the match against FC Guangzhou Evergrande (23 July), who have won the Chinese title for the last four years in a row and who were the Asian Champions League winners in 2013. The games are subject to formal approval by authorities.

Jörg Wacker, Executive Board Member of Internationalization and Strategy of FC Bayern Munich said: “It is a great opportunity for FC Bayern to stage the China Tour together with our long term partner Audi. The Audi Summer Tour in China is another further step in our international orientation, where the clear focus is on the USA and China. FC Bayern has nearly 90 million followers in China, who will have the opportunity to see one of the best teams in the world right up close during the tour.”
