FCB announce record number of US fan clubs

It has been an eventful first year in the US for FC Bayern, and now another milestone can be added to the list -  a record number of over 80 officially registered US fan clubs, more than any other European football team. The announcement was made during the inaugural FC Bayern Fan Fest in Miami, with a special guest appearance by Bayern legend Paul Breitner.

Since Bayern opened a US office one year ago, the club has grown its network of officially registered fan clubs from 8 to more than 80 across 32 states. To mark this milestone and show our appreciation, the club and its passionate fans celebrated aboard the Norwegian Cruise Line Getaway.

As part of the celebration, the fan clubs were invited to enter a team of fan club members to participate in a tournament aboard the vessel. The West Palm Beach fan club won the trophy, which was presented by Breitner.

Furthermore, the Most Valuable Player, as selected by a panel of judges including Breitner, has won a trip to the 2015 Paulaner Cup in Germany, which gives select fans around the world a once-in-a-lifetime chance to play against the Bayern first team.

Breitner: Great support from the US

Daniel Cavalcanti from the West Palm Beach fan club will play against FC Bayern in the Paulaner Cup, to be held in Germany this autumn. You’ll find more information about the Paulaner Cup at www.paulaner-cup.com.

FC Bayern Brand Ambassador Paul Breitner commented: “The Paulaner Cup gives fans in the US a truly unique opportunity to play against FC Bayern’s first team. It’s a reward for the great passion and support from fans here in the US.”

FC Bayern Munich US Managing Director Rudolf Vidal commented: “The response from our fans in the US has been incredible. The Fan Fest in Miami was to acknowledge and say thank you for all the support in the last 12 months.”
