The array of training equipment on display, including slalom poles, speed ladders, mini goals and balls, supplied convincing evidence that Franck Ribéry is continuing to make steady progress in his sports rehab programme. The Frenchman made light of heavy rain falling on Munich on Friday lunchtime as he reeled off a series of drills. "He's taken a huge step forward in the last few weeks. The recent period has been good," reported Pep Guardiola, expressing cautious hopes that Ribéry might join in at least part of the team training sessions "perhaps in a week or two." The French winger has been out since March with a stubborn ankle injury.
